THREE DAY HAZY HOT HUMID NYC PERIOD AHEAD – Good evening everyone! Heat and humidity is making its way into the area overnight tonight. A large swath of storms precedes this humid push, but everything is going to our north, so it’ll stay dry overnight.

For tomorrow, we’ll have summer skies with cumulus clouds dotting the area and highs a humid 85-90, cooler at the shore. There will also be the chance of some of those cumulus building into an isolated thunderstorm. Same for Saturday, humid and 85-90, but the timing of the cold front is moving slightly faster; so the chance of storms is great Saturday evening and night as opposed to Sunday. We’ll have to wait and see if any of these storms can attain severe limits, but as of now I’ll say “slight” since they won’t have the advantage of the sun. Heat continues one more day for Sunday and still a chance of a thunderstorm, especially in the morning, highs 85-90 but drying out humidity-wise as the day wears on.

Monday, dryer air fully makes its way in for a comfortable day in the mid 80’s. For the Fourth of July, that weak area of energy doesn’t look to materialize, and any slight chance of rain we did have, looks like it’s a no-go. We’ll have sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday, low to moderate humidity, and highs in the low to mid 80’s each day.

Heat and humidity increases once again for the following weekend, then another cool-down, and then we await to see if a mid-July true heat wave materializes.
