SOLAR ECLIPSE WEATHER NYC BAKES TODAY – Good morning everyone! The sun is out and the heat is on today just as expected. Light NNW winds will help the air sink and heat up rapidly as the sun bakes the NYC area; highs in the upper 80’s to low 90’s. In the more notorious hotter spots, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 94 or 95 pop up somewhere.

Overnight, a front drops through the area with a whisper, doing nothing but dropping temps somewhat and swinging light winds around to the northeast. We’ll have a sunny day tomorrow, but clouds will start to roll back late as another system approaches the area; highs in the mid 80’s.

Friday will be cloudy, with periods of rain possible. Once again, the main focus of energy will go well to our north, but a wave could develop as it’s about to exit the area, throwing a period of steady rain our way. Highs will be in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.

For the weekend, sun and warmth return after morning clouds on Saturday. We’ll have mid to upper 80’s both Saturday and Sunday.

The 2017 Solar Eclipse weather for Monday is looking mighty fine. With partly cloudy skies and mid to upper 80’s, you can’t ask for a better chance  to view the eclipse. Just remember, one badly timed cloud can ruin it all, but at least we have a decent shot as high pressure settles in over the area.

In the tropics, we have Gert throwing some decent surf our way, but it’s going bye-bye. We’re also keeping an eye on two vigorous waves which have the potential to strengthen, but do not pose an immediate threat to anyone as of now.
