Quiet Warm NYC Afternoon Weekend Forecast Holds Strong

Good afternoon everyone. We have a pretty beautiful day here in the NYC area as there’s not much to work with energy or moisture-wise for popcorn storms. Meanwhile, our weekend forecasts holding strong, with high pressure dominating for a few days.

SATELLITE

We could go up a few more degrees today as light northwesterlies help give us a little boost. Look for low to mid 80’s in most places, even at the shoreline communities. There could be a widely scattered shower or storm popping up over the course of the next few hours, but most of the action (if any at all), will be south of us.

REGIONAL RADAR

Tomorrow, we have another beautiful, sunny, and dry day. A light northwest flow will help gets to upper 70’s/low 80’s; down to the shore as well.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Our weekend forecast continues to hold, with high pressure dominating the scene and keeping tropical moisture trapped to our west and south.

We’ll have another sunny day on Saturday with upper 70’s to low 80’s again, but high pressure drifting off the coast will begin to give us more of an onshore flow late. Even with the onshore flow, we remain dry, but it’ll be slightly cooler at the shore and east end of Long Island.

On Sunday, that onshore flow keeps us cooler at the shore, but we still go for upper 70’s to low 80’s in most spots. We may have increasing clouds late, but whether we do or don’t, we’ll at minimum have a sunny start and a dry day.

LOCAL RADAR PHILADELPHIA

As high pressure gives way late Sunday, those clouds will enter the picture at some point, and we’ll start the week off on a rainy note. Monday night into Tuesday look to be theist day to see rain, heavy at times, with some rumbles of thunder possible; but we could also see some rain Monday during the day as well.
