NYC WARM HUMID HEAT RETURNS WEDNESDAY – Good morning everyone. As with anything this time of year, whenever we have a tropical system lurking, sometimes we have to make a few tweaks in the forecast.

There won’t be a return a to fall temps anytime soon, but the departure of Tropical Storm Gert will cause an old stationary front to bend our way slightly closer than expected. For today, we’ll be warm and a little more humid than yesterday; highs in the mid 80’s. Overnight, clouds associated with that old front will move in, giving us a slight chance of showers after 12am. Clouds will continue to hang around with the threat of a shower tomorrow, and instead of upper 80’s to near 90, we’ll have a muggy low to mid 80’s.

For Wednesday, Gert pulls away, allowing hot weather to return. It’ll probably be the most uncomfortable day of this period, with low 90’s and moderate humidity. For the remainder of the week, waves of energy will transit the area, giving us a chance of scattered showers and storms; Thursday having the best chance. After Wednesday’s hot day, we’re looking at a humid low to mid 80’s through Saturday, before a more comfortable Sunday.

For the 2017 eclipse next Monday, we wait and see what high pressure wants to do and the timing/positioning of it. We’ll be on the cusp of a push of some more unseasonably warm air, so timing will be key as clouds are usually associated with this process.
