HURRICANE JOSE POSSIBLE CLOSE ADIOS – Good morning everyone! We have another beautiful, yet warm day given to us by Mother Nature. We’ll have some sunny skies before Irma’s carcass starts creeping in later on, highs in the low to mid 80’s. Any mid 80’s you could see will be in the more notorious warmer spots of Manhattan, central Brooklyn, and central Queens.

Tomorrow, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies and the slight chance of a few showers thanks to Irma and whatever leftover schmutz she has left. It won’t be a big deal though and we should have a warm, humid day with highs near 80, possibly low 80’s if we can squeeze out some extra sun. For Thursday, it’s should be similar, with clouds and sun, chance of a shower, but warmer as a front approaches the area; highs in the low to mid 80’s.

On Friday, we’ll see more clouds than sun and a better shot at some showers and storms. Low 80’s stick around and it could be a humid one. For the weekend, a slight chance of showers will be with us on Saturday, but no rainouts, highs near 80, possibly low 80’s again. Sunday looks to be the best day of the weekend, with bright sun and highs a dry upper 70’s to low 80’s.

As far as Jose is concerned, late evening yesterday and early morning models have him being kicked out to sea. However, the approach is very close, so I’m going to hold out making the call on him. We still have several days to go before I’m 100% comfortable since I hate storms depicted by models doing loopty loops. However, steering currents are shearing him up good and he couldn’t fill Irma’s shoes right now. Maybe in the end, a close approach will give us a surfer’s and photographer’s delight with some big waves, but be harmless otherwise.
