Heavy Storms Likely Tomorrow in NYC

Good morning everyone. Our heat is back on in parts of the Northeast as near 90/low 90 temps return. It’ll be short-lived, as will be the relief, with hotter conditions set to return before July 4th. However, the multiple transitions will set the NYC area up for the chance of some severe weather tomorrow.

In other storm-related news, severe weather continues to march across parts of Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, and eventually into Indiana. The severe weather potential we talked about last night, developed as expected overnight, and is doing its thing before fizzling out later in the day. These storms have a history of damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning, and isolated tornadoes.

We have a new potential for severe weather shaping-up across parts of Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri. Look for more scattered storms to blossom today between the late afternoon and evening hours, organize, then move in a multi-directional fashion. These storms will also be capable of very large hail, torrential rain, frequent lightning, damaging winds, and tornadoes.

SATELLITE

Hot conditions return today with near 90 temps and increasing humidity again. It’ll be dry as rain holds off till tomorrow. Look for more near 90 temps tomorrow and very humid. Scattered storms are expected to develop in the afternoon, and some may reach severe limits.

WEATHER RADAR

Look for the chance of some AM rain or rumbles on Thursday as temps drop into the low to mid 80’s. Expect a fantastic day on Friday, with seasonable low 80’s, sunshine, and dry conditions.

We have the chance of some PM showers Saturday, but not before some AM sunshine. Highs will be in the low 80’s, then near 90 again on Sunday with some sunshine.
