COOL RELIEF APPROACHES TROPIC WATCH RESUMES

COOL RELIEF APPROACHES TROPIC WATCH RESUMES – Good morning everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday eclipse and can still read this because they didn’t burn their retinas out. We have one more hot and uncomfortable day today after some morning haze and clouds. Highs today will be a muggy upper 80’s to low 90’s.

Severe weather looks to allude us once again as our cold front will approach us long after sunset overnight tonight. We could still see some scattered heavy/gusty showers and storms, but the bullseye for this one will be central/western PA, and central/western NY.

Showers and a few rumbles could linger tomorrow morning before we clear everything out. Cooler air will also have a one day lag and we should hit the mid 80’s tomorrow. Then, cooler and much drier air ushers in for at least a 5 day block, with highs in the mid 70’s to near 80 Thursday through minimum Monday.

Heat will eventually build again in the Midwest, but it’s up in the air as of now if it’ll return in full. We could see spotty above average warm days, mixed in with seasonable temps as summer is starting to enter its last throes.

Part of the reason for our questionable long range is due to the tropics. We have to keep an eye on the remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey, which could redevelop and slam into the TX/LA coast. As of now, Brownsville to Houston need to keep a close eye on it, but if things continue to trend NE, you can include parts of Louisiana. Even though the Gulf Coast is of immediate concern, we could see the remnants of whatever redevelops, head of our way via the Mississippi/Tennessee Valleys. This could not only affect our temperatures in one form or another, but also change the overall pattern behind it.

Stay tuned as we decipher everything on the table.
