Black Friday Shopping Weather Forecast Rainfall Amounts
We are looking ahead to Black Friday Shopping Weather to get you started with your Christmas and holiday shopping. The weather will be on the cloudy side and there will be some showers to dodge. But overall it is not going to get in your way to get to the store. The satellite loop shows a large area of clouds as weak low pressure moves east.
Radars are showing patches of showers but they do not cover the entire area. There will be dry stretches through Friday night and some wet stretches as well. Temperatures won’t be going very far with readings tonight in the 40s and highs might edge into the 50s. There could also be a few breaks of sun in the mix Friday. Friday night we will see a few more showers as low pressure develops offshore.
Once showers are done by early Saturday morning weather conditions will improve with some sunshine developing Saturday. Highs should reach the 50s before colder air comes in. Sunday looks dry with some sunshine and highs just in the 40s.
Next week brings the chance for a 2 solid rainfalls as low pressure heads to the Great Lakes and a cold front heads toward the coast. Weather models are a little different on the timing with the European faster with the first shot. Rain would come in during the day Tuesday and be done by Wednesday morning. Then the front which stalls to our south sees another strong low develop and move northward. More rain would come in Wednesday night and last through at least part of Thursday. This could be the first 1 2 punch of rain we’ve seen in a long time and could put a serious dent in the drought if it plays out the way models indicate. The European is especially bullish on rainfall with 2 to 4 inch amounts generated between both systems.
The GFS model is even more bullish with 4 inch plus rainfall totals throughout the entire area. The upper air pattern does support a substantial rain event. 2 back to back like this is a little unusual so lets see going forward if weather models continue to go down this particular wet road. The stormy pattern developing is a good sign regarding bringing an end to the drought. Once the second low goes by it does turn significantly colder on the European model and the lake effect snow machine will fire up once again late next week.
With regards to the long range the colder blocky look continues on all long range models. Eventually I think this will evolve into a snowier pattern as we get into the month of December. JOESTRADAMUS will have more on this later today.
